As we reflect on our past successes and plan for the future, we recognize the
importance of giving back to our communities and protecting the environment,
which is integral to our businesses and the quality of our lives. To that end,
I am pleased to announce a program at Maurice Sporting Goods called Maurice
Cares.
Maurice Cares focuses on two key initiatives. First, Maurice will host Make
a Difference Day on Tuesday, July 20th. The company will close
mid-morning to allow our associates to participate in community service. There
will be group projects or associates may select an individual volunteer
activity which is community or environmentally focused.
The second initiative focuses on fund-raising. Throughout the year, Maurice
will host company sponsored activities. Maurice will then match the money
raised by these activities and award an annual gift to select charitable
organizations. Our associates will nominate eligible charities. The donation
recipients will be selected at year-end and announced at our National Sales
Meeting in January, 2011.
Maurice Cares is Maurice Sporting Goods most ambitious charitable
program to date, fully focused on bringing community service to the forefront.

Nomination Process
Nominations will be accepted from NOV 1, 2010 through DEC 31, 2010
Throughout the year, Maurice Cares will host company sponsored activities to
raise money in support of various charitable organizations. Maurice will match
the money raised by these activities. Maurice associates will nominate a worthy
charity to be the recipient of a monetary award from Maurice Cares. The
recipient(s) of the donation(s) will be selected after year-end and will be
announced at our National Sales Meeting in 2011. Click Here To Nominate

The Fund-raising Committee raised money during 2009 through special events they
hosted, some of which included the Rummage Sale, Pizza-Bingo, Paid Day-Off
Raffle and the Sample Sale. In addition to Vendor donations, Maurice Cares also
received generous contributions honoring the memory of Melvin Olshansky. These,
coupled with matching funds from the owners of Maurice Sporting Goods, made it
possible to donate $30,000 to charitable causes.
Maurice Cares was able to help the following organizations, each receiving a
check in the amount of $10,000.
